Frequently asked questions

About our mock tests
Are the Oman General Practitioner Licensing Examination mock tests free?

Eight of the 38 tests are free: Mock Test 1, Full Mock 1, and Set 1 of each of the six section practice sets (Medicine, Surgery, Women's Health, Emergency, Public & Community Health and Child Health). Create a free account with your email or Google, then press Start on any free test. No payment or card is needed, and you can take them as many times as you like.

The other tests are part of the paid test series for this exam, so they show a lock for now. When a package is available it is listed under Packages on this page, and the locked tests open as soon as you buy it.

How many questions are in the mock tests, and how long do they take?

There are 38 tests with 934 practice questions in all:

  • Mock Test 1 to 3: 20 questions each, with a 25-minute timer
  • Full Mock 1 to 5: 25 questions each, mixed across all six sections, with a 30-minute timer
  • 30 section practice sets (five for each section): 25 questions each (Surgery – Set 3 has 24), with a 30-minute timer

That gives you about 1ΒΌ minutes per question.

Every correct answer scores 1 mark and there is no negative marking, so it is always worth answering. You can mark questions for review and jump between them with the question palette. The test submits itself when the timer reaches zero, and if the page reloads your answers are kept on that device.

How is the mock test different from the real OMSB exam?

The real OMSB exam for general practitioners (OEGP) is a much longer computer-based multiple-choice exam taken at a Prometric test centre. Check the current candidate booklet on omsb.gov.om for the exact number of questions and time.

Our tests are shorter practice sets of 20 to 25 questions, so you can do one in a single sitting and practise answering at a steady pace. Use the Full Mocks for mixed practice across the whole syllabus, and the section sets to focus on one area at a time.

All questions are original. We write them from standard textbooks and the published exam content; they are not leaked or recalled exam questions. A short test cannot predict your real result, so use your score to find the areas you need to revise.

Which syllabus topics do the mock questions cover?

The questions follow the Oman General Practitioner Licensing Examination syllabus on this page, which has six sections:

  • Medicine
  • Surgery
  • Women's health
  • Emergency
  • Public and community health
  • Child health

The percentage next to a section shows its share of the real exam; the note at the top of the syllabus says where the figures come from.

The Full Mocks mix questions from all six sections, and each section has five practice sets of its own. Every question is labelled with its topic, and after each test your dashboard shows your strong and weak topics.

Can I see the correct answers and explanations, and retake the test?

Yes. As soon as you submit, you see your score and accuracy, then every question with the correct answer marked and a short explanation. You can filter the list to show only the questions you got wrong or left unanswered.

You can retake the test as often as you like. Your dashboard keeps your past scores so you can follow your progress, and if you set this as your target exam with your exam date, it shows a countdown and daily study goals.
