About the exam

Qualification

  • A medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and a recognised postgraduate qualification or training in emergency medicine (for example a board, fellowship or master's).
  • The post-qualification experience SCFHS requires for the Registrar or Senior Registrar grade.
  • Valid licence or registration in your home country and a Certificate of Good Standing.

How to apply

SCFHS, Saudi Arabia
  1. 1Create an account on Mumaris Plus, the SCFHS online portal, and submit your professional classification and registration application with your documents. Many applicants apply with a job offer from a Saudi employer.
  2. 2SCFHS sends your degree, licence and experience certificates for Primary Source Verification (PSV) through DataFlow.
  3. 3If SCFHS requires the exam for your category, it issues an exam eligibility number (usually valid for about 3 months). Use it to book the exam on the Prometric website.
  4. 4After you pass and meet the other requirements, SCFHS classifies you (for example as technician, specialist or registrar) and issues your registration and licence.

ℹ️ Applicants with qualifications from some countries or institutions may be exempt from the exam. Check the current SCFHS rules for your profession.

Frequently asked questions

About our mock tests
Is the SCFHS Emergency Medicine Examination mock test free?

Yes. The SCFHS Emergency Medicine Examination mock test is completely free. Create a free account with your email or Google, then press Start mock test on this page. No payment or card is needed, and you can take it as many times as you like.

How many questions are in the mock test, and how long does it take?

The mock test has 10 multiple-choice questions and a 15-minute timer, which gives you 1Β½ minutes per question.

Every correct answer scores 1 mark and there is no negative marking, so it is always worth answering. You can mark questions for review and jump between them with the question palette. The test submits itself when the timer reaches zero, and if the page reloads your answers are kept on that device.

How is the mock test different from the real SCFHS exam?

The real SCFHS exam is 200 multiple-choice questions in 4 hours. The pass mark is 65% for Registrar and 70% for Senior Registrar classification.

Our mock test is a shorter practice set of 10 questions in 15 minutes, so you can do it in one sitting. The real exam allows about 1.2 minutes per question, so the mock timer also helps you practise your speed.

All questions are original. We write them from standard textbooks and the published exam content; they are not leaked or recalled exam questions. A short test cannot predict your real result, so use your score to find the areas you need to revise.

Which syllabus topics do the mock questions cover?

The questions follow the SCFHS Emergency Medicine Examination syllabus on this page, which has fourteen sections:

  • Resuscitation/Shock/Airway
  • Trauma/EMS/Disaster
  • Cardiovascular and Respiratory Diseases
  • Pediatrics
  • Toxicology/Environmental
  • Orthopedic
  • Neurology/Psychiatry
  • and seven more (see the syllabus)

The percentage next to a section shows its share of the real exam; the note at the top of the syllabus says where the figures come from.

Every question is labelled with its syllabus section, so after each test your dashboard shows the sections you are strong in and the ones that need more work. A 10-question test cannot cover everything: Mock Test 1 covers 8 of the 14 sections, so use the syllabus to plan the rest of your revision.

Can I see the correct answers and explanations, and retake the test?

Yes. As soon as you submit, you see your score and accuracy, then every question with the correct answer marked and a short explanation. You can filter the list to show only the questions you got wrong or left unanswered.

You can retake the test as often as you like. Your dashboard keeps your past scores so you can follow your progress, and if you set this as your target exam with your exam date, it shows a countdown and daily study goals.
